The pest was previously mentioned as present in Algeria in the first EPPO data sheet. According to Reporting Service 520/06 of 1992-02, a survey of potato plants and tubers in the coastal region near Alger failed to find P. solanacearum. The NPPO of Algeria denied the presence of the bacterium on its territory.
