The Ukrainian regulations of 1993 list Q. perniciosus as a quarantine pest of limited distribution in Ukraine.
EPPO Reporting Service (1994/215) : introduced into Zakarpat'e province in 1952, now in 16 of 25 provinces of Ukraine.
Annual report for 1996 gives the following distribution by province:
- West: Chernovtsy, Ivano-Frankovsk, L'vov, Rovno, Ternopol, Zakarpat'e
- Centre: Cherkassy, Kiev, Kirovograd, Poltava, Vinnitsa
- South: Cherson, Krym, Nikolaev, Odessa, Zaporozh'e
- East: Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lugansk
