Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae(PSDMAK)

Distribution details in Argentina

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2024: Absent, unreliable record
Pest status declared by NPPO: Absent, unreliable record (2024-11)
Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2018/012) : first found in February 2015 during routine testing of kiwifruit pollen produced in the Mar del Plata area. For the moment, not detected in plants but extensive monitoring and laboratory analysis are ongoing.

From NPPO (2024): the above record is now considered as invalid. The methodology used (absence of Argentinian partners, no details on the exact location of the pollen sample, lack of specificity of the detection method used) is questionable. Official specific surveys and other scientific studies conducted since 2013 have not detected the bacterium.
