Comments
At the end of 2009, the Danish NPPO was notified by another NPPO that a finding of Spodoptera litura could possibly be traced back to a consignment of plants delivered by a Danish producer (glasshouse nursery on the island of Funen). During inspections, dead specimens of S. litura were found in light traps in one glasshouse. Intensive official inspections did not reveal any infected plants or any living moths or larvae at these premises. Is is suspected that the pest was introduced into the nursery by plant imports (probably from south east Asia) but did not survive.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/208) : intercepted by Norway on a consignment of Polyscias potted plants from Denmark (interception).

From NPPO (2017): following the above notification of interception, surveys detected 5 larvae in 5 plants for planting of Polycias scutellaria grown in one greenhouse. Phytosanitary measures were taken and the pest was eradicated.
