NAPPO News Story of 2002-10-15: first find of this European virus on commercial potatoes in Canada. Probably originated from Maine (US). Found in 8 seed-potato producing states in USA.
PMTV is probably widespread in potato-growing regions of USA and Canada, more studies are needed on its incidence and detailed distribution (Xu et al., 2004).
