The old EPPO data sheet ( 1978) gave this pest as present in Poland, but this was denied by the Polish NPPO in the early 1990s. It was later found in the late 1990s.
EPPO Reporting Service (2000/151) : in regular annual surveys of more than 20000 ha of potato crops, the first outbreaks of stolbur were found in 1997 (three) and 1998 (eight).
