EPPO Reporting Service (1994/153) : Krym, Odessa, Kherson, Zaporozh'e, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk.

The annual report for 1996 gives the following distribution by province:
- West: Zakarpat'e
- South: Kherson, Krym, Odessa, Zaporozh'e
- East: Donetsk, Khar'kov

According to Fedorenko & Pylypenko (2012), it was first found in 1980. It was introduced to the Automonous Republic of Crimea on potato tubers imported from India. Currently occurring on 16 600 ha in Crimea and 5 Southern regions of Ukraine.

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/075) : the total infested area is estimated to be 7 710 ha (in 1 autonomous republic and 5 oblasts). Under official control.

Burdulanyuk et al., (2023): infested area is 776,5 hectares in six regions of Ukraine. There is a noticeable decrease in the spread of the pest: from 1604,51 hectares in 2015 to 740,5 in 2021.
