Phthorimaea operculella(PHTOOP)

Distribution details in Hungary

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2022: Present, restricted distribution
First recorded in: 1988
From CABI Pest map 010 (2012): Absent, intercepted only
Comments
The pest was intercepted in some ware potato consignments from Greece.

From Horváth et al. (2017): first found in December 2015 on potatoes in a market in Komló (Baranya County). These potatoes had most probably be grown in Baranya county but this could not be firmly ascertained. Interestingly, another infestation (about 60 km away) was reported at the same time in Northern Croatia (in Lug, Osijek-Baranja county).
