An intracellular microsporidian parasite of honeybees, originally the Asiatic honey bee Apis cerana. Nosemosis can be caused by Nosema ceranae and Nosema apis. Now found in honey bee colonies worldwide, and probably associated with "colony collapse disorder", together with a virus.
