Comments
M. chitwoodi was first detected on scorzonera (Scorzonera hispanica) and ware potatoes in March 2008, in the Aine département. Surveys showed that 2 production sites (130 ha in total) were infested by M. chitwoodi and also by M. fallax in some plots (Anonymous, 2008).

EPPO Reporting Service (2011/030) : the NPPO confirms that both M. chitwoodi and M. fallax were detected in detected in 2008 in Picardie (on scorzonera and ware potatoes) and in 2009 in Bretagne (on glasshouse vegetables).

From NPPO (2011): eradication measures are being taken.

EPPO Reporting Service (2012/235) : found in 2010 in Aquitaine (outdoor vegetable crops), in 2012 in Ile-de-France (glasshouse tomatoes) and Basse-Normandie (red beet grown outdoors).

EPPO Reporting Service (2020/013) : detected in Bretagne region on lettuce grown in a greenhouse. Under eradication.
