EPPO Reporting Service (2015/069) : according to a publication (Demir et al., 2014), the pest was found on various host plants (unspecified), in Gümüşhane (Black Sea region). However, the Turkish NPPO considers that the identification of the pest is unreliable and is currently checking the identity of the collected specimens.
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/028) : absence officially confirmed by the NPPO in June 2016. Further studies have shown that the pest found was Malacosoma franconicum which is native to Turkey. A revised version of the paper from Demir et al. has replaced the first version.
