According to Namvar et al. (2011), L. sativae was first found in 2000. Together with L. trifolii, it has cause serious damage to bean, pea, tomato and other vegetable crops in the provinces of Khuzestan, Kerman and Tehran. Both species are currently posing problems in cucumber greenhouses across the country.
