EPPO Reporting Service (94/019): absence from ex-Yugoslavia, based on survey carried out in 1989/1991 at 64 potato-growing locations. Early EPPO records are probably based on a misidentication of G. achilleae.
EPPO Reporting Service (2003/099) : G. rostochiensis found in potato roots at Jadognja (Krupanj) and Ponikve (Užice), in soil samples at Aljinovići (Prijepolje) and in storehouse potato debris at Kušići (west of Serbia).
According to Oro et al. (2012), G. rostochiensis was first found in Serbia in 2000.
