2012: Present, restricted distribution
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/045) : first found in Hunan province during a survey (May to June of 2011). H. elachista was detected in hilly rice fields in five counties (Changsha, Pingjiang, Hengdong, Shaoyang, and Xiangxiang).
