According to Kondo & Simbaqueba (2014): althought the first record was published in 2011, is estimated that the insect was introduced in 1989 or even earlier. It occurs in the states of Antioquia, Caldas, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Narino, Tolima and Valle del Cauca. In Colombia, it has displaced Hippodamia convergens and Coleomegilla maculata.
According to Hiller and Haelewaters (2019): found in the states of Antioquia, Boyacá, Caldas, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Nariño, Risaralda, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca.
