After first appearance in Nord-Pas de Calais in 1972, the disease has been present at a number of foci in Southwestern France since 1978. It has since appeared in numerous areas in Northern and Western France. The 1988 situation is shown in a map in EPPO Reporting Service 500/07, and the 1990 situation in a map in EPPO Reporting Service 512/05.
EPPO Reporting Service (1996/23) : foci were found in Puy-de-Dôme on pear and ornamentals in 1995.
EPPO Reporting Service (1999/173) : two foci found in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in summer 1999.
From NPPO (2011): surveys have confirmed the absence of fireblight in Corse.
EPPO Reporting Service (2018/202) : first record in Corse. Detected during summer 2018 in 2 apple orchards in Haute-Corse. Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (1996/23) : foci were found in Puy-de-Dôme on pear and ornamentals in 1995.
EPPO Reporting Service (1999/173) : two foci found in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in summer 1999.
