From MAPAMA (2019): present in several regions (Andalucia, Asturias, Cantabria, Galicia). Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2011/078) : first found in Galicia in 2009 (as 'Epitrix similaris'), under official control.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/068) : as of January 2014, official surveys have shown that 'E. similaris' has not spread outside Galicia, and remains limited to the provinces of A Coruña, Ourense and Pontevedra.
EPPO Reporting Service (2015/203) : it is now considered that earlier records of 'E. similaris' were misidentifications of E. papa. The native area of E. papa is unknown.
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/164) : several outbreaks were detected in 2017 in Andalucia. Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2018/024) : more specimens of E. papa caught in several municipalities of Andalucia. One outbreak in Coria del Rio has been eradicated. Eradication continues.
From NPPO (2018-06, 2018-08, 2019-03): Eradication measures carries on in Andalucia. The demarcated area was extended following the finding of new outbreaks in the municipalities of Guillena and Puebla de los Infantes (province of Sevilla), in the municipality of Coín (province of Málaga) and in the municipality of Huétor Tájar (province of Granada).
