EPPO Reporting Service (2016/112) : first reported in 2015. Caught in traps placed in the wild (humid and shaded habitats) near Valparaiso.
EPPO Reporting Service (2016/130) : the NPPO of Chile officially denied this record in July 2016. Re-examination of the specimens by 2 different laboratories concluded that this was a misidentification of Drosophila amplipennis. In addition, further specific surveys did not detect D. suzukii. The pest is officially declared as absent from Chile.
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/182) : confirmed in 2017, several specimens were caught in La Araucanía, Los Lagos and Los Ríos regions, under official control.
