EPPO Reporting Service (2004/085) : first found in 2000/2002, in botanic garden in Kaunas, then in 2003 in a plantation of Vaccinium corymbosum. All infested plants were destroyed. Survey started in 2003 found D. vaccinii on cultivated Vaccinium at 11 locations and on wild V. oxycoccos at 1 location. Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2006/144) : 7 outbreaks. Official control continues.
From NPPO (2008): detected in 2007 on Vaccinium macrocarpon in a Botanical garden (Vytauto Didzioja University, Kaunas). In 2007, surveys were done in 27 production sites of Vaccinium and in forests (365 ha). D. vaccinii was not detected in forests in 2007 (no details were given for production sites).

Absence confirmed by official surveys in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
