EPPO Reporting Service (2016/111) : incidentaly found near Morogoro during a survey carried out in 2014-2015 on huanglongbing and Trioza erytreae. Further surveys are needed to determine the distribution of D. citri in Tanzania, as well as on Ca. Liberibacter species present.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/166) : results of surveys conducted in 2015-2016 showed that D. citri is most prevalent in the Morogoro region, but also occurs in other sites around Dar-Es-Salaam (Bagamoyo, Dar-Es-Salaam and Mkuranga districts). Found for the first time in Zanzibar (Mahonda, Kitope and Selem Station, all on Unuguja island).
