EPPO Global Database

Bactrocera dorsalis(DACUDO)

Distribution details in Australia (Queensland)

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2021: Transient
From CABI Pest map 109 (2019): Absent, pest eradicated
Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (1996/44) : Torres Straits Islands and Cairns area only.

From NPPO (IPPC, 2021-08): due to the proximity of Papua New Guinea (where the pest occurs), transient incursions are occasionally detected in Torres Strait islands. A permanent network of fruit fly monitoring is maintained in all these islands and eradication measures are immediately implemented following any detection of B. dorsalis (or any other exotic fruit fly).
