A detailed overview of B. minax in China is given by Xia et al. (2018). B. minax occurs in 9 citrus-producing provinces. Fruit infestations are generally moderate to severe in Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, and Chongqing, and moderate in Jiangxi, Guangxi, Shaanxi and Yunnan. It is supposed that the area of origin of B. minax is the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.
