Ash dieback was initially found in the northeastern part of France (Haute-Saône) and it is suspected that this disease is of recent introduction (Husson et al., 2011). The disease then spread to a large part of France. Only the Mediterranean coast is free from the disease (2020).
EPPO Reporting Service (2010/035) : first detected in 2008 in Haute-Saône (Franche-Comté), in 2009 it was recorded in the eastern part (Alsace, Bourgogne, Champagne-Ardennes, Franche-Comté, Lorraine) with one isolated record in the north (Pas-de-Calais).
From NPPO: in 2010, it was also recorded in the Northern part of France (Nord and Pas-de-Calais).
2020: also recorded in Southern France: recorded in forests in Lozère, Alpes de Haute Provence (2016); Lot, l’Aveyron (2019); Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées (2020).
