Medfly occurred in Ukraine in 1964, then again in 1966/1968, but was eradicated. In 2007, an outbreak in the Odessa (9.9 ha) was successfully eradicated. Another outbreak (9.9 ha) was found in 2011.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/075) : the total infested area is estimated to be 9.9 ha (in 1 oblast).
From NPPO (2018): the area of the outbreak remains unchanged (9.9 ha) in the Odessa region.
Burdulanyuk et al., (2023): 11.9 hectares in Odesa region, no dynamics of the pest spread is observed.
