Noted as present in Russia in Agroatlas, citing Dorofeeva et al. (1992). A map produced in 2004 note its presence in Far East and Southern Russia. They mention that "the disease is distributed everywhere on the territory of rice growing (Dorofeeva et al., 1992). Data on the disease severity in Russia are absent in literature that testifies to an inessential influence of the Phyllosticta Leaf Spot on rice yield in this country. "
