Comments
According to Zhang et al. (2010), the pest was first found in the 1950s in Xinjiang (where it now occurs in 35 counties). C. pomonella then spread to 4 other provinces: Gansu, Inner Mongolia (Neimenggu), Ningxia and Helongjiang.

Old records from eastern China are almost certainly mistakes.
