Comments
Ikegami et al. (1981) studied an isolate of bean golden mosaic virus from Puerto Rico (now bean golden yellow mosaic virus); Ikegami was then based in the USA.
Later several studies by Japanese researchers (Ikegami et al., 1986 and Moringa et al., 1987) studied bean golden yellow mosaic virus. However, it is not clear if the isolates mentioned in these studies were collected in Japan. An isolate 'bean golden yellow mosaic virus-[Puerto Rico-Japan]' is mentioned in several sources (D00201 in Genbank). No references were found on the presence of bean golden yellow mosaic virus in the field in Japan, and the record for Japan is therefore considered as unreliable (2025-11).
