EPPO Global Database

Bactrocera correcta(BCTRCO)

Distribution details in United States of America (Florida)

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2011: Absent, pest eradicated
Comments
Repeatedly introduced into Central and South Florida (generally urban areas) since 1999, no evidence of the establishment of a breeding population. Sutton & Steck (2005) considered that B. correcta does not occur in Florida.

In August 2011, 1 adult was trapped in Orange County, Florida (Press release of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, US).

As in October 2015, the pest was officially declared eradication from the USA, the above finding has presumably not led to establishment.
