- A. vaginatum subsp. cryptopodum occurs in Chihuahua, Coahuila, Distrito Federal, Durango, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, Nayarit, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, Tlaxaca, Veracruz, Zacatecas.
- A. vaginatum subsp. vaginatum occurs in Chihuahua, Coahuila, Sonora.

EPPO Reporting Service (2009/021) : A. vaginatum subsp. durangense reported to occur in Durango, Sinaloa and Jalisco.
