Notes

Mediterranean, Caucasus, Western Asia (Arabia to Pakistan), Himalayas, India, Bangladesh, Sénégal to Somalia, Ghana to Nigeria and Cameroon, East Africa, Zaïre, Angola, Zimbabwe.  The nominate sub-species is weedy, as opposed to A. g. sylvestris. Introduced in many European countries, Central Asia (Turkmenistan), Mexico, Australia (South, Victoria, Tasmania), New Zealand. See also A. blitoides, with which it is not synonymous.
