Notes

Mediterranean, lack Sea, Central Asia, introduced further north. This species is the parent of the cultivated leek (Allium porrum), and many authors consider that the latter should simply be known as a form of A. ampeloprasum. In this data base, however, A. porrum (q.v.) is maintained as a separate entry
