From NAPPO (1992) and CABI: widespread. Present in Hawaii. Capsicum pathotype 2 is restricted to Florida.

On the basis of currently available information, three of the Xanthomonas spp. causing bacterial spot of tomato are present in USA: euvesicatoria, perforans and vesicatoria.
