Comments
Initally , it was considered that T. destructans occurred on Melville Island (= Tiwi Island - 50 km of Darwin - Northern Territory) and in Derby (Western Australia). It was suggested that T. destructans was endemic to Australia, although cryptic in the native environment. However, re-examination of isolates from Australia showed that they corresponded to other species (T. novaehollandiae and T. tiwiana).
