Identified for the first time in 2012 on a symptomatic sample of Vaccinium corymbosum collected from Bundaberg (Queensland). Then also detected in other states (New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia) where eradication is no longer considered feasible. Also found in Tasmania where the disease is subject to containment measures.
