EPPO Reporting Service (2001/129) : first found in the north of Tenerife island in 1999. Surveys showed that the pest has estblished in the fields and in stores, but is still absent from the south of the island. Also found (by pheromone trapping) in stores in La Gomera, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria islands. Serious losses. Probably introduced illegally with small quantities of seed potatoes from South America.
