EPPO Reporting Service (2007/167) : first found in Sicilia in 2005 in the city of Acireale (province of Catania), later in several other localities along the Ionian coast, in the provinces of Trapani, Palermo and the island of Favignana (Egadi).

EPPO Reporting Service (2009/051) : found in the city of Palermo on Howea forsteriana.

In 2010 and 2011, found in new Sicilian provinces.
