Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/160) : first found in June 2017 in the Ticino canton (adults caught in a pheromone trap). This introduction most probably results from the natural spread of the P. japonica population which is established in the nearby Ticino Valley Natural Park in Italy. Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2019/157) : Monotoring and eradication measures continues. Adults regularly trapped in the same area at low level. Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2020/167) : in July 2020, for the first time, adults of P. japonica have been found in high numbers in two different vineyards directly on plants (Vitis vinifera), in the Canton of Ticino. Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2021/104) : eradication strategy changed to a containment strategy in November 2020.

NPPO (2021-07): One adult specimen (male) was caught in a pheromone trap in the north of Switzerland (Basel). It is assumed that it was transported there as a hitch-hiker from the outbreak in Italy or the outbreak in the Canton Ticino. Additional traps were set up and visual inspections are being carried out.

EPPO Reporting Service (2023/184) : two new outbreaks, in the canton of Valais and Zürich. Under official control.
