According to Wu et al. (2017), the disease was first found in 1989 in Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces.
According to Yang et al. (2020), the disease is widespread in China, it is reported from reported in Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Fujian, Henan, Shandong, Xinjiang, and Sichuan provinces.
