Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2001/034) : isolated and identified on 2 occasions (1996 and 1998) in different parts of France on C. lawsoniana. It was suspected that these originated from a single original infestation of young, potted greehouse-propagated cedars in a commercial nursery. No further detections were then made until 2010.

EPPO Reporting Service (2010/032) : tree mortality and symptoms resembling those of P. lateralis have been observed since 2005 on several hedges of C. lawsoniana in Finistère department (Bretagne region, Western France). The pathogen was identified as P. lateralis in 2010, further surveys will be conducted.

EPPO Reporting Service (2011/029) : detected in 4 municipalities (Finistère department - Bretagne region) but symptoms (decline and mortality) have been observed over an area of approximately 400 km² on Chamaecyparis lawsoniana trees (planted as windbreaks/hedgerows).
