Phytophthora hedraiandra(PHYTHD)

Distribution details in Australia

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2021: Present, few occurrences
First recorded in: 1996
Comments
Isolated from soil near horticultural plastic tunnels in Werribee, Victoria (soil had been collected in 1996).

Burguess et al. (2021): 1 record in South Australia, 1 in Victoria. The isolate recovered from almonds in SA, originally identified as P. cactorum, has been reclassified as P. hedraiandra. As only 25 % of P. cactorum isolates have a molecular identification, P. hedraiandra may possibly be more common in Australia than currently known.
