Comments
Isolated in October 2012 from soil and roots of Castanae sativa trees in 3 orchards in northern Greece (near Orma, a village in the Prefecture of Pella, Central Macedonia). Earlier surveys carried out in 2005 on declining chestnut trees had not detected the pathogen. It is suspected that it has been introduced more recently via infected nursery stock.

Identified to cause root rot of avocado trees in 2024 (Kavroulakis et al., 2024).
