Comments
Belongs to the aster yellows group, New World type in principle. The disease is found in Queensland and is presumably caused by a pathogen distinct from that of North American aster yellows. Harding & Teakle have transmitted eggplant little-leaf phytoplasma (from India) to tomato (on which it caused big bud) and from tomato to potato, on which it caused purple top wilt.
From country itself (1992): present in Victoria and South Australia. Recorded in New South Wales as tomato big-bud phytoplasma (q.v.).
