Only a few isolated findings have been reported in the past (probably limited incursions from third countries imports). Until the early 2000s, its establishment in Belgium was not considered feasible, but due to successive mild winters, an increasing number of observations have been reported, including some cases of local occurrence and damage to potatoes (especially in some areas in Northern Belgium).
