Philaenus spumarius(PHILSU)
Distribution details in Tunisia
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated
2023: Absent, confirmed by survey
In extensive surveys in 2018-2021 in 9 Tunisian regions, P. spumarius was not found but the related P. tesselatus was found (Boukhris-Bouhachem et al., 2023). Historically, P. tesselatus was described as a distinct species, then synonynimized with P. spumarius, and later separated again as a distinct species. Older records of P. spumarius in Tunisia (e.g. Linnavuori, 1971) may have been P. tesselatus.
