Recent spread from Grenada, according to IIBC experts responsible for control in Grenada. Confirmed by FAO (EPPO Reporting Service (96/028)).

EPPO Reporting Service (98/129): both islands.

First observed on 1995-10-13 in a residential zone now declared a quarantine area, in an attempt to contain the outbreak (Caraphin News, 1996-02).
