Comments
According to Cubillos (2017): endemic in Colombia with highest incidence in the departments of Antioquia, Santander and Narino (specifically in Uraba and lower Cauca River, Middle Magdalena and Tumaco). Earliest observations of the disease indicate an outbreak in 1817 in Norte de Santander.
