Comments
Probably indigenous in western USA (Colorado and New Mexico); first collected from wild Solanaceae at what is now the border between Nebraska and Iowa in 1811, described in 1824 in the western states. Reached the Atlantic coast in 1874.

Arnett (1993) gives it as now present in all his zones of mainland USA.
