The pest is mentioned in a list of Cuban Lepidoptera (Núñez & Barro, 2011) based on re-examination of specimens in a museum collection (3 specimens collected in the 1980s in Western Cuba; R. Nunez, pers. comm.). O. leucostigma is also mentioned in a book on Cuban Lepidoptera (Barro & Núñez, 2011) based on a recent record on Rhizophora mangle (red mangrove) (no details are provided). There is no information on whether O. leucostigma is native or introduced in Cuba
