Comments
Larix trees in many areas of Hokkaido have been affected since 1943. By 1962, 18% of the total Larix-growing area was estimated to be affected (Yokota, 1966). Localized severe outbreaks occurred in 1981 in young Larix leptolepis plantations in the coastal area following two typhoons (Tanaka et al., 1983).
