EPPO Reporting Service (2015/211) : detected in 7 grapevine samples collected from 3 different Californian vineyards.
Found a low prevalence in a Californian grapevine collection (Al Rwahnih et al., 2016), as well as in commercial vineyards in Napa Valley (Angelini et al., 2016).
Al Rwahnih et al. (2021): detected in 170 out of 716 (23%) grapevine samples, including white and red grape varieties, from several commercial vineyards and one nursery increase block. GPGV was identified in three different counties (Yolo, Solano, and Napa) situated in northern California. It is considered widespread in Napa county.
